About Us
Buoy 5 is a family and veteran owned business started out of our love for the beautiful place we live, and the desire to share our adventure with others. I joined the Coast Guard in 1997, just out of high school, and retired in Sitka, Alaska in the summer of 2024. My family and I have lived in many great places through the United States … from East Coast to West Coast. Serving as a rescue swimmer, and then as a Chief up to Master Chief over the last 27 years has been a great honor. Once I decided it was time to retire from the Coast Guard, I knew that Sitka was the place to start our new family business … Buoy 5 Adventures !!
I started my career on the water in the late 90's as a small boat coxswain. I was stationed on the Coast Guard Cutter Maui and transferred my boarding teams to other vessels throughout the Caribbean.
Buoy 5 Adventures takes place on a 26' Hewescraft Pacific Cruiser with all the newest technology and comforts to make any trip as relaxing and enjoyable as possible.

As a 27 year Coast Guard veteran and retired Master Chief helicopter rescue swimmer, I know safety is the #1 priority. We cannot have a fun enjoyable time on the water without first being safe!
